Kelly has been a finalist at the prestigious Mayan World Salsa Championships in 2002 and 2003 which is broadcast worldwide on the internet at www.clubmayan.com, and has been a finalist at 9 international championship salsa events including the IDO World salsa championships, WSF World Salsa Championships, IHSC Championships, San Francisco, Montreal, and Vancouver international competitions and most recently at the World Salsa Championships by Albert Torres for ESPN. Kelly has been invited to perform and teach all over North America, including the World Salsa Congress in Los Angeles, which is the largest salsa event in the world (hosted by Salsa legend Albert Torres). Kelly is the co-director of Salsa Rica Dance Company who in 2002 represented Canada with 22 Alberta-based professional dancers and won the WSF World Salsa Team Championships in Miami. Kelly has been a feature dancer and choreographer on television, film, for events with crowds of over 50,000, and on international networks such as Bravo! Television.
Kelly began dancing at the age of four with training in gymnastics, and later musical theatre and jazz. Kelly has received training in all of the social couples dances, and teaches in Calgary full time at Alberta Dancesport, Mount Royal College and The Studio School of Dance.
Kelly and Eric were very proud to be invited to teach and perform at the World Salsa Congress in Acapulco, Mexico, in December of last year, and were extremely proud to win the Canadian qualifying competition and represent Canada at the World Salsa Championships by Albert Torres for ESPN in the Cabaret division where they placed 6th in the world. This event will be the most widely broadcast dance event in history going out to 200 Million homes in North Central and South America in April 2006. Eric and Kelly are also very proud to be the new owners with Vincent Fung of Alberta Dancesport.
